WATTS Workday Senior Financial Analyst in North Andover, Massachusetts

Watts Water Technologies is seeking a Workday Financial Systems Senior Analyst, ideally with prior accounting experience, to join our Team. This role will be considered a global subject matter expert on the Expense module within Workday Financial Systems and will lead all Expense Module support activities at Watts. In addition, this resource will drive change in Travel & Expense policy and practices to standardize processes and optimize and leverage spend, working collaboratively with the sourcing function. This individual will be incredibly hands-on, knowledgeable, detail oriented, and an all-around Workday Expense module subject matter expert. The right candidate will serve as a practitioner and leader in helping to shape the future of the Workday Expense process at Watts; specifically take on the role of system administrator for the Expense Module and design standard operating procedures, help enhance and establish internal controls for the module, design and lead expense report end-user training, assist in redesigning the expense report auditing program and establishing expense report KPIs and management reporting. In addition, this role will assist the general accounting group with certain month end close activities such as journal entry posting and account reconciliations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Workday Expense module system administrator & maintenance

  • Design standard operating procedures for administration of the system and for change management requests and requirements

  • Maintain data requirements (inputs/feeds/changes) for the module, and oversee on a global basis

  • Design IT general controls and application controls related to the module and execute the controls at the required frequency

  • Test and document results for new releases in Workday related to the Expense module, providing results to HR Workday team. Communicate any updates impacting the end-user experience and provide required training if applicable

  • Manage Expense module global security, hierarchy and workflow structure in Workday, in collaboration with HR Workday team

  • Contribute to the update of the Global Travel & Expense (“T&E”) policy & drive the standard application of the policy on a global basis.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing function to update policy to optimize and leverage T&E spend driving cost saving, and then monitor these savings

  • Enhance the policy where needed to drive standardization, specification and cost savings

  • Ensure incorporation and interpretation of the policy within the Expense module

  • Drive & monitor consistency of application of T&E policies

  • Design and rollout Expense report and module end-user training on a global basis

  • Handle ad hoc T&E requests from system users

  • Assist in redesigning the expense report auditing program, initially with the Americas and then globally. Work with shared services function who execute the auditing and oversee the data, follow up and reporting.

  • Enhance existing reporting and develop KPIs / management reporting to facilitate awareness and better expense control

  • Collaborate with the HR Workday team, ensure Expense module processes align with overall Workday platform processes

  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders to promote efficiency and reporting related to Expenses within Workday to drive standardization and data consistency across the organization. Maintain, monitor, and support all expense module integrations ensuring proper interpretation of business requirements (banking, credit card, etc).

  • Assist general accounting group with certain accounting month end close activities such as journal entry posting and account reconciliation preparation (10% - 20% of capacity)

This person will work closely with T&E key stakeholders and end-users. The daily activities for this person will include day to day system administration and maintenance, hands-on configuration, documentation of processes, process improvement, and assistance with T&E auditing and management reporting.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Workday Training Certifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of Workday experience, and preferred Expense Module experience

  • Day to day system administration and maintenance

  • Experience working in a Global company

  • Experience with T&E policy and policy management

  • Configuration of business process workflows

  • Process improvement focus

  • Creation of custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields

  • Accounting background or 1-2 years’ experience at accounting staff level – a plus

  • Strong project management and program management skills to effectively balance competing priorities during project lifecycles while adhering to specific deadlines.
