WIN Waste Innovations Regional Maintenance Mechanic in North Andover, Massachusetts

We are looking for a Regional Maintenance Mechanic/Welder. The Regional Maintenance Mechanic/Welder will be willing and able to travel to Wheelabrator Plants as part of the New England Regional Maintenance crew (NERM) in and out of New England as directed as part of the NERM maintenance crew performing work on power boilers and auxiliary components. Primary work includes demo and installation/welding of boiler tubes and components related to the construction and maintenance of power boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Essential Functions:
This position requires extensive travel, approximately 75-100% of the time, among the plants in the region; must be available to work plant outage schedules, day or night, and 12-hour shifts.
Safely work in and around power boilers and auxiliary equipment
Be environmentally aware and follow all rules pertaining to environmental considerations in the execution of work in the power industry
Welding, rigging, demolition, and installation of pressure parts and components related to the construction and maintenance of trash to energy power plant boilers and equipment.
Participate in erection and disassembling of scaffolding used in power boilers
Responds to call-in repair emergencies
Complete training programs within time frame prescribed by company training coordinator
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Familiar with reading and comprehending welding procedures related to SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.
Familiarity with proper rigging techniques and hand signals
Ability to comprehend instructional/vendor manuals, technical data, and work orders
Ability to receive and comprehend instructions given both written and verbally; also the ability to perform tasks or functions completely with minimal supervision
Ability to safely operate powered equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, man lifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
Work rotating shifts, as needed, and extensive overtime hours.
Education/Experience:
Two years technical training or equivalent in welding and metal cutting processes
Five years of experience in the repair and maintenance of power boilers.
Experience in combination of welding, pipefitting, millwright, mechanic, and machinist work
Experience repairing sootblowers, boilers, fluid transfer pumping system, automated control valves, turbines, cranes, etc.
Computer Skills:
Basic Computer skills
Certificates and Licenses:
Current Qualified Welder Certification in the 6G position for SMAW and TIG processes
Power Plant safety training certification
