ClearChoiceMD Radiologic Technologist (XRay Tech) in North Adams, Massachusetts

Job Summary : The Radiologic Technologist provides a critical service to our communities, allowing us to shed light on hidden problems within the patient’s body without needing to wait in an emergency department waiting room. When not performing X-Rays the Radiologic Technologist, will help around the center, putting patient care skills to good use to help a variety of patients.

D uties and Responsibilities : Radiologic Technologist - tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.

  • Prepares patient for radiological procedures.

  • Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.

  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.

  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.

  • Take patient histories and vital signs.

  • Prepare patient for examination and treatment.

    Education & Experience :

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.

  • ARRT license in NH, VT or ME.

  • Experience in urgent care/emergency room settings preferred.

    Work Environment : - This job operates in a fast-paced urgent care/ medical office setting and includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

    Physical Demands : - Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

    Travel: There is no travel required for this position

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: - The centers operate (7) days per week, 8AM to 8PM. Typically full-time employees will work (3) 12-hour shifts and every other weekend
