Bright Horizons Senior Accounts Payable Specialist in Newton, Massachusetts

What you will be doing:

To provide daily leadership to the Accounts Payable Team to ensure that invoices, check requests and employee expense reports are processed in a timely and accurate manner. To provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. To ensure company-wide compliance of financial controls. This position requires a greater ability to work independent of supervision and to ensure that the operation of the department runs smoothly on a daily basis.

What we hope you will bring to this role:

  • To review the status of the mail, LiveLink etc to ensure that invoices are being timely and properlyprocessed for payment. Serve as primary Customer Service contact for designated divisions andserve as a back-up for others in the department that are charged with Customer Service.

  • Ensureall payment requests comply with company polices and procedures and meet our internal control requirements. To participate in the check run process, matching, auditing, distribution of checksand filing on a regular basis.

  • To provide back-up and support for others in the department asnecessary.

  • To be proactive and identify areas of opportunity, and make recommendations tomanagement, in regards to improving customer service and streamlining the process if appropriate. Perform other tasks as required.

  • Able to work with minimum supervision, but, when necessary, consult with the Accounts Payable

  • Supervisor and/or Director of Accounts Payable for direction and/or clarity. To be held accountable on timeliness, accuracy and customer service on a regular basis. Works closely with,but, not limited to the following: Finance, Internal Audit, Cost Center Owners, Center Directors,

  • Suppliers and Supply Management to ensure they are meeting their needs in a timely andprofessional manner.

Education

  • Required/Preferred Education Level Description

  • Preferred Associate Degree

Required/Preferred Years of Experience Description

  • Required 3-5 years of accounts payable experience with multi-site company for a mid-large organization.
