Morgan Advanced Materials Ink Specialist in New Bedford, Massachusetts

Job Purpose: The Ink Specialist is a member of the Metalizing Department reporting directly to the Production Supervisor. The role is an exciting opportunity to join a global, dynamic, Hi-Tech team, supporting the medical and aerospace industries. We are the industry leader in development and manufacturer of ceramic to metal seals for both Aerospace and Medical markets. We help improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components, and we ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry. Essential Functions: Perform various tasks as assigned by Department Supervisor. Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and standards. Perform one or more repetitive bench operations. Completes all relevant documentation. Maintains material inspection records. Cleans and maintains equipment & work area. Microscope use is required. Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor. Performs training/cross-training as required. Must be able to work with chemicals that are required for job operations. Performs one or more of the following metalizing applications: Making of paste, ink and varnish per MI Spec Use of viscometer and scale Dip and spray operation Visual Inspection Metalizing - Dip & Spray Room Perform precise metalizing coating Must have the ability to perform/ run Air Fire Furnace. Applies metallizing coating to a variety of beads per material instruction specification (MI spec) to less than 3 coats. Apply coating using spray gun centrifuge spray booth motorized spray basket controller oven Mixing ink paste and varnish per material instruction specification (MI spec). Maintain clean equipment such as spray gun, tri-toll mill machine, blender and other equipment/ areas to prevent ink drying and affecting operation. Makes small adjustments to ink viscosity. Dries painted ceramic parts in oven to prepare for next operation. Inspects painted and unpainted parts visually and mechanically using microscopes, gauges, scales, micrometers and XRF machine Maintain lot control in paperwork and ERP system to ensure parts can be identified. Works with Engineers to develop methods for prototype parts. Must work in a clean room environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Individual must be a: Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, orProtected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
