City of New Bedford Administrative Assistant in New Bedford, Massachusetts

Provides administrative support to the IT Director; manages day-to-day clerical duties in an efficient and timely manner. 1. Answers City?s switchboard telephones and routes calls or provides information as required. 2. Provides effective and efficient customer service and promotes and maintains responsive community and working relations. 3. Process City department mailings and coordinates process postage with USPS. 4. Provides backup for monthly communication billings. 5. Provides backup to maintain departments financial accounts and records in general. 6. Provides backup to prepare department payroll; maintains records and other payroll liabilities. 7. Processes department accounts. 8. Verifies the accuracy of all financial and payroll records. 9. Maintains filing system. 10. Performs related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. At least one year of office experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
