Town of Needham Project Manager in Needham, Massachusetts

Under the general supervision of the Town Engineer, the Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, and closure of capital projects for building upgrades and parks renovations that will positively impact the community, and provide a positive environment for residents to enjoy the amenities of the Town and contribute to the Town?s sustainability mission. Needham has a history of strong funding support for their capital projects, with an average annual capital budget of \$13 million. The Department of Public Works is looking for a motivated, organized, and resourceful candidate that can work collaboratively and autonomously within a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities Performs professional level project management for capital projects including HVAC replacements in commercial-sized buildings, field renovations, roof replacements, bathroom renovations, road and pavement repairs, storm and drainage repairs, and other projects as assigned. Develop bid specifications, prepare bid documents, coordinate bidding, conduct reference checks, and award bids of the projects in conjunction with Administrative Division. Manages communication and collaboration with project stakeholders; immediate supervisor, department supervisors, engineer and architect consultants, contractors, business owners, residents, building occupants, various governmental entities, and others. Work collaboratively with the Engineering Department, Building Maintenance Department, and Parks & Forestry Department to complete a variety of projects. Work collaboratively with consultant contracts for engineering and architectural design services to develop project cost estimates, scope, schedules, and bids. Review and update building as-builts and plans as necessary. Requirements Intensive knowledge of specialized fields and a broad knowledge of municipal functions or activities Computer and technology skills Requires four (4) to six (6) years of relevant professional experience A valid motor vehicle license Preferred: Bachelor?s degree in civil engineering, construction management, project management, or related field preferred Supplemental Information Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with the first round of review to begin for applications received before 5 PM on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024.
