NBCUniversal Local is NBCUniversal’s local media division that delivers English and Spanish-speakers and bilingual audiences in 31 U.S. markets and Puerto Rico, the very best in local sports, news, weather, consumer and investigative reporting, and lifestyle entertainment across any platform and screen. The Producer/Editor of Original Content is responsible for creating daily content for use on all platforms (social, digital, television). Reporting to the Executive Producer of Content Strategy, they will take be tasked with creating engaging Boston sports content, planning and executing all aspects of the project. They must have expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, as well as a modern videography and photography aesthetic. This person must be highly conceptual and be proactive in seeking assignments. They must be able to see these projects through from beginning all the way to delivery.  The ability to create high end content quickly is a must while also maintaining efficiency and accuracy.  

 

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Ideate and create high-end content across all platforms from start to finish as requested by internal clients. 

  • Use advanced techniques to shoot, edit, and create engaging content.

  • Work cross-functionally with department heads in order to target daily priorities and fulfill their daily content objectives. 

  • Flexible scheduling based on content needs. Some local and national travel.

  • Pitch creative concepts to stretch the bounds of the group’s output.

  • Actively participate in daily content meetings and tailor content based on department goals 

  • Work closely with other departments to develop and maintain templates that can be used for breaking news and quick content creation.

  • Maintain close interdepartmental relationships to ensure consistent understanding and execution of long term business objectives.

  • Take art direction from the creative department and retain consistent style and branding with respect to episodic content.

     

Desired Characteristics :

• Minimum 2 years of experience (internships included) 

• Knowledge and awareness of league wide sports news across NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL preferred.

• Expert knowledge of Adobe Premier, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Knowledge of operating Canon C200 and Sony a-series Cameras.

An eye for capturing still and video imagery in a modern aesthetic and technical style

• Ability to write copy that appeals to the target audience.

• Experience producing for digital/social platforms.

• Knowledge and evolving awareness of current social media trends and metrics.

• Ability to communicate and relationship build with outside entities

• Ability to produce content quickly and accurately.

• Ability to manage time and resources related to each project.

• Ability to communicate and problem solve with team members.

• Flexibility of schedule to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
