IDC is seeking a Director, WW IT Benchmarking Services to be a key member of a growth initiative that involves scoping, managing, and delivering client projects to evolve our benchmarking practice strategy. The director will partner across the organization’s business development, subject matter expert and delivery solutions teams to deliver client engagements focused on cloud and managed-service Market Price Models, IT Benchmarking and Sourcing strategies.
IDC’s WW Benchmarking team helps clients plan, market and sell in the global marketplace. We create actionable market intelligence and provide influential go to market support that yields measurable results.
The role will be a key part of IDC’s strategy in growing a global business around IT metrics benchmarking. The Benchmarking Director will be expected to collaborate with a global team to support the development and delivery of long-term relationships with assigned clients.

Lead engagement fulfillment both as a subject matter expert and project manager.
Lead and perform data analysis including analyzing quantitative datasets.
Interpret data effectively and develop a data-driven story.
Engage with clients to understand requirements, structure solutions, and develop compelling proposals that win custom projects and deliver high-quality outcomes that address client requirements.
Manage client communications and facilitate on-time, high quality deliverables and customer experiences with the aim to grow their business over time.
Partner with IDC’s centers of excellence, including analysts and sales globally to yield the highest value for our customers.
Operate with a client-centric orientation to maximize IDC value in terms of quality, timeliness, and customer experience.
Assist and manage projects that satisfy client requirements and address project specifications and timelines as proposed.
Responsible for managing project quality assurance from proposals to delivery.
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years of professional research or consulting experience with a focus on analysis and delivery of IT benchmarking data and project management.
In-depth experience with IT Managed Services and IT Professional Services markets, vendors, and pricing structures.
Familiarity with the underlying metrics, KPI’s and methodologies used to measure and benchmark IT services such as cloud management services, DaaS, Infrastructure Managed services, service desk, etc.
Comparable experience from an industry analyst firm, consulting firm, IT vendor, IT sourcing or IT service management company is preferred.
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, market modeling, and price benchmarking is highly preferred. Competence analyzing quantitative datasets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills are essential, Project Management (PMP) certification is advantageous.
Travel requirements up to 20% which may include international travel. (Post COVID)
Position is located in our Needham, MA headquarters or an IDC-approved US east coast remote location.
