Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This DE-1670-02 position is with US ARMY COMBAT CAPABILITIES DEV CMD SOLDIER CENTER SOLDIER PROTECTION DIRECTORATE PROTECTION SYSTEMS DIVISION DISTINCTIVE MATERIAL SOLUTIONS TEAM NATICK, MA. Responsibilities Provide engineering services that develop, support, and facilitate the research, development, and integration and production process. Utilize advanced technologies in specialty functions such as: computer-aided design (CAD), additive manufacturing, and finite element analysis. Utilize advanced technologies in specialty functions such as test design, sensors, data acquisition and analysis strategies. Utilize advanced technologies in specialty functions such as: electronic troubleshooting and circuit design, strength testing, and rapid prototyping. Perform work at the journey level performing functions in the business or administrative fields (e.g., finance, resource management, logistics, or planning). Apply knowledge of the laws, principles, standards, techniques, policies, and concepts of a program, project, technical or technology field. Perform work in technical support fields (e.g., engineering technician, equipment specialists, and information technology). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the DE-02/GS-05 grade level: Your resume must reflect three years of progressively responsible general work experience with one year of that experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level, which includes applying knowledge of the characteristics, uses, and properties of equipment. This experience may have been gained in trades or crafts, engineering technician, production control, inspection, or other work related to the specialization of the position to be filled. OR Successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in any field of study in an accredited college or university . (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) To qualify at the DE-02/GS-07 grade level: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements. 2) Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders. 3) Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met. And 4) Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements. OR Successfully completed one full academic year of graduate-level education with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, engineering technician, equipment specialist, information technology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) To qualify at the DE-02/GS-09 grade level: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Demonstrating analytical abilities and skills in executing methods, practices, approaches, and design principles to accomplish objectives. 2) Performing engineering services that develop, support, and facilitate the research, development, and integration and production process. And 3) Presenting findings and results, in writing or orally, for higher-level review or publication. OR Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Engineering Technician, Equipment Specialist, Information Technology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This is a Career Program (CP) 17 - Material Maintenance Management position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. You will be required to undergo a background investigation leading to the successful adjudication of eligibility for Secret security clearance. Derogatory information developed during the background investigation, such as a criminal history or an adverse credit history, could render the selectee ineligible for both the security clearance and continued employment in the position, if already appointed. Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Flexible/renewable Term appointment NTE 2 years which may be renewed indefinitely. May be converted to a career/career-conditional appointment.
