Utilities Service, LLC Estimator in Millbury, Massachusetts
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team:
Responsible for compiling unit estimates. He/she will be tasked with preparing and maintaining a list of unit costs, labor rates, productivity factors, and location impacts.
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Field survey the work to verify accuracy of specifications and drawings, as well as factoring in logistics for execution of work.
Identify terms & conditions in proposal that impacts project cost, productivity and schedule.
Coordinate project risk and opportunity evaluation.
Collect and compile costing and scheduling information for: labor, equipment, and subcontractors
Compile a list of costs, labor rates, productivity factors and location impacts.
Build estimate details and work with the Area/Construction Manager to compile the bid
Present estimates and conduct bid review meeting with Management for approval.
Review and compile all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation.
Hand off awarded project to Construction Manager and General Foreperson and follow projects closely while supplying relevant information to project team.
Weather permitting, this is a 30 to 40 hour work week.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures
Education, Training and Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in related field or relevant Distribution line construction experience preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in cost estimation is preferred.
Experience estimating distribution line work preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret specifications, blue prints, drawings and profiles.
Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do labor and equipment estimates.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, Word,Outlook, Access)
Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
Time management skills.
Willing to travel
Location: Massachusetts and Rhode Island
Must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.
Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
Must be able to "occasionally" traverse various terrains.
Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must pass a background and/or MVR check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Rarely = less than 10%

Continuously = 67% to 100%
