Milford Regional Medical Center Substance Abuse Data Analyst in Milford, Massachusetts

Milford Regional Medical Center is a full-service, community and regional teaching hospital located in Milford, Mass. and serves patients from more than 20 towns in Central Massachusetts. Statement of Purpose: The Substance Use Data Coordinator (SUDC) is accountable for performing audits, data entry, research, and analysis of healthcare data regarding federal, state and commercial quality and utilization information. The SUDC is also responsible for supporting and facilitating the reporting needs of various business teams within Milford Regional Medical Center. The SUDC is responsible for evaluating, writing, and presenting data through reports and makes recommendations based on relevant findings. Additional data analytics and management may also include, but are not limited to, Department of Public Health, National Health Safety Network (NHSN), Culture of Safety, National Quality Forum (NQF) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) measures. The SUDC evaluates, interprets, and displays data utilizing benchmarks and developing data visualization in a meaningful way. Works collaboratively with the addiction care team, quality staff, and IT staff to support measurement development and reporting. This position reports directly to the Manager of Behavioral Health.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in a data driven field such as healthcare or business management required.

Certification/License: N/A

Experience: 2+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics, data management, data mining, and/or statistical analysis; experience analyzing and reporting clinical or EMR data Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of quality improvement Demonstrates understanding of wide range of interpretive analysis tools such as trend analysis, spreadsheets, graphs, correlations; knowledge of statistical analysis preferred. Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, datasets and methodologies required Knowledge of data management and reporting tools such as MS Excel, SAS, SQL server databases, and relational databases Demonstrated ability to work as a team member Effective presentation skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines/schedules Able to communicate in a concise, calm manner; displays a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
