State of Massachusetts Facility Service Worker IV in Milford, Massachusetts
Duties: Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming and washing; clean interior surfaces such as walls, ceilings and windows; clean lavatories, washrooms, mop closets, etc.; empty waste receptacles; and perform related work as required. Inspectassigned areas to determine that work has been performed according to establish procedures. Maintain records or logs on assigned unit activities. May supervise and provide on-the-job training. Examine completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards. Coordinate the activities of assigned units to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards. Confer with agency staff to resolve problems and exchange information. Prepare reports and maintain records to provide information concerning assigned unit activities. Room set up for events and conferences as needed. Perform other related duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and appropriate storage. Knowledge of ordering supplies.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of institutional housekeeping. Knowledge of the types and uses of materials and equipment used in institutional housekeeping. Comments: This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in building custodial or institutional housekeeping work and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity.
