JOB TITLE:

Quality Control Technician

JOB LOCATION:

REPORTS TO:

Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the consistency and precision of the products that we manufacture. This includes inspection of materials, components, and assemblies in all parts of the life cycle; audits of policies and procedures within a QMS; and quality control through nonconforming material, customer complaints, and internal collaboration. With the support of others, the Quality Control Technician keeps the operation up and running consistently in a high-volume, 24-hour environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & REQUIRED ABILITIES

  • Perform receiving, first article, in-process and final inspections on a variety of raw materials, molded components and finished assemblies using precision analog and electrical measuring equipment

  • Conduct quality calibrations, internal audits and project assignments in timely, safe and professional manner

  • Use metrology processes and equipment to determine precise measurements and calibrate semi-automatic line machinery

  • Support the qualification of new parts/materials, and machine validation through FAI/capability analysis, or equivalent

  • Perform investigative mechanical and visual analysis of nonconforming material in the aid in the determination of root cause and appropriate corrective action.

  • Take the lead on containment for product returns, customer complaints, or internal production/quality issues

  • Development of control plans and other documentation, such as inspection sheets, batch record release, and C of C documentation

  • Processes quality system changes per procedure

  • Scan and maintain critical records per Quality Management System (QMS) requirements

  • Coordinate with management, general labor and outside inspection agencies to ensure compliance to site Quality standards, including participation in Material Review Board (MRB) discussions

  • Comply with established quality, safety, and environmental procedures and policies

  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 3 years of Quality Control experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with common inspection techniques, including the use of hand tools (micrometer, caliper, height gage, etc.)

  • Experience with measurement and test equipment (MT&E) including programming of automated CMM and vision system equipment

  • Ability to read advanced blueprints, including in-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Basic computer skills required, including experience using major Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc)

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with Root Cause Analysis mentality

  • Significant attention to detail

  • Good time-management skills

  • Organized, Disciplined, Flexible

  • Cleanliness approach to all work

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Approaches Work with Safety First Principles

  • 5-years of experience working as a QC inspector preferred

  • Experience in ISO13485 manufacturing or similarly regulated environment preferred

  • Experience working in cleanroom operating environment preferred

  • May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
