Description

This role is responsible for the overall health and performance of our organization's data communications network. You will leverage your expertise to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all network equipment, guaranteeing seamless connectivity for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, configure, maintain, and upgrade the network infrastructure.

  • Install, configure, and integrate new network devices such as firewalls, VPNs, cloud services, servers, routers, and more.

  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard the network.

  • Define network policies and procedures for optimal use.

  • Monitor network activity and performance metrics (availability, throughput, goodput, and latency) to identify and address potential issues.

  • Develop and test security strategies like access authentication and disaster recovery plans.

  • Proactively recommend improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability for continuous optimization.

  • Specify system requirements and design solutions to meet evolving needs.

  • Plan and execute routine network maintenance activities.

  • Utilize network management tools for monitoring, alerting, and logging.

  • Provide support and administration for third-party applications.

  • Manage user permissions and network access controls.

  • Resolve network and access-related issues promptly and efficiently.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of skills, experience, and certifications.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical support within a large network environment.

  • Proven success as a Network Administrator.

  • In-depth knowledge of networking principles, including routing and switching.

  • Strong understanding of best practices for managing, controlling, and monitoring server infrastructure.

  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, cloud systems, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques.

  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware.

  • Familiarity with backup and recovery methodologies.

  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

  • Solid foundation in network administration and architecture.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong organizational and mentoring skills.

  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.

  • Understanding of access control models and network security principles.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation purposes.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with various operating systems (e.g., iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows, ChromeOS, Linux) and diagnostic utilities.

  • Familiarity with network analysis tools like Wireshark and performance monitoring utilities.
