Sodexo Director 2 - Facilities Operations in MELROSE, Massachusetts

Sodexo Facilities Solutions is looking for a Facilities Management Professional in Melrose, MA to oversee the daily operations of the Facilities Engineering program at Melrose Wakefield Hospital and Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The Director of Facilities 2 will provide leadership, oversight, and coordination for all functions and activities within the Facilities Management Department, including Engineering, Plant Operations, and Facilities Management. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and management of all buildings, equipment, machinery, systems, and grounds. The Director will oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of uninterrupted lighting, heating, power, water, and monitoring systems across all health system buildings and services, ensuring smooth and reliable functionality.

What You'll Do

  • Plans, improves, and maintains owned and leased facilities and equipment

  • Provides strategic leadership and vision for departments

  • Provides coordination and direction in the design, review, and specifications of construction and remodel projects with architects and administration.Monitors day to day activities and work on Engineering, Plant Operations, Aesthetics and Grounds. Provides oversight as needed for contractors and construction managers

  • Directs, manages and coordinates with the functional authority for planning, organization, control and integration to ensure completion of projects

  • Negotiates project contracts with the direction of Hospital Senior Leadership

  • Manages activities concerning technical development and scheduling

  • Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets. Controls expenditures within the limitations of the project and department budgets

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills.

  • At least 5 years of functional experience in facilities management (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation), food services (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending), CTM, or Clinical Nutrition.

  • Proven ability to manage teams and effectively oversee daily operations.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to optimize processes and maintain efficiency.
