Position Summary

Responsible for managing and maintaining the location’s QHSSE system and providing proactive support to the Operation to ensure QHSSE objectives are met. This role will ensure that the Operation provide acceptable client satisfaction through effective processes, training & control within the site’s QHSSE System.

Major Roles & Responsibilities

Quality System:

  • Manage all aspects of the Quality System including Risk Assessment and mitigation.

  • Lead and facilitate problem resolution, as applicable, for any client issues identified, highlighted or questions with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations

  • Monitor changes to ISO and MRA requirements and provide gap analysis, transition plan and implement the plan to maintain the QHSSE system.

  • Implement, maintain and improve the Operations’ quality system compliant with BVCPS Quality Manual and appropriate standards

  • Partner with testing labs and client groups to ensure that all work is done according to specified protocols, methods, regulations and standards, and that errors are addressed appropriately with corrective actions as necessary

  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to, including the maintenance of training, calibration, and testing

  • Oversee the document control system

  • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the quality system, identify weaknesses, open corrective/preventive actions, and review effectiveness of actions taken

  • Ensure appropriateness of corrective / preventive actions and assist when required in the root cause analysis / identification and implementation of resolutions

  • Consolidate and Report monthly KPIs

  • Train all personnel on BVCPSQHSSErequirements and other applicable quality initiatives

  • Keep current with regulations, accreditations, certifications and registrations pertaining to assigned departments

  • Keep current withQHSSEindustry skills and new developments / trends in theQHSSEfield.

  • Plan, Manage and Conduct all Quality internal audits and site inspections

  • Represent BV for external audits

  • Plan and facilitate ISO and MRA scope extensions with regulating/certifying bodies to meet business strategy and annual revenue plan.

  • Interact with Manager of Operations as required to inform of testing status, problems, and other issues of importance

  • Train and assist employees in utilization of quality tools to drive continuous improvement activities.

  • Identify areas where departments could benefit from additional quality related training and provide that training to strengthen skills

  • Lead the management review process and continuous improvement process though monthly, quarterly and annual operations meetings and reviews.

  • Ensure location follows a customer focus approach

  • Work with Managers and operational staff to ensure that processes are carried out in accordance to customer requirements

  • Lead investigation and resolution of client complaints as required

  • Point of contact for GlobalQHSSEProcesses and improvements

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

  • Maintain document control and record keeping

HSSE

  • Manage all aspects of the HSSE System including Risk Assessment and mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain local HSSE manual and procedures

  • Conduct all site training and communication of HSSE policies

  • Provide HSE induction training and all other HSSE related training to the site

  • Plan, Manage and Conduct all HSSE internal audits and site inspections

  • Track consumption data monthly

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 17065, ISO 14001, OSHA’s 18001

  • Experience with Planning, Facilitating & Participating in the audit process

  • Qualified as an Internal Auditor

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills – including the ability to deliver presentations / training to internal and external groups

  • Excellent organizational skills to organize / prioritize individual and team workload to meet or exceed deadlines

  • Ability to self-manage, to prioritize multiple tasks and evolving goals in a very busy environment

  • Strong analytical / problem solving / process improvement skills

  • Ability to lead groups of diverse people through the problem solving process

  • Strong leadership skillsto influence diverse testing areas and staff

  • Technical aptitude – the ability to assimilate and assess new information and develop plans to capitalize or react to it

  • Ability to interpret regulations and standards and use that information to update and improve the QHSSE system and local training.

  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and equipment

  • Expert knowledge ofQHSSEconcepts, processes and systems and the demonstrated ability to implement them

  • Client interaction skills; ability to work with customers, determine their requirements, define and assist in solving problems and ensure customer satisfaction with BVCPS

  • Strong math skills and working knowledge of statistical procedures

  • Medium to high level of proficiency in MS office

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • 4 year Engineering or Quality degree (or CQE/CQM or demonstrated experience)

  • 6 years quality system experience

  • Demonstrated experience with customer interface and auditing to ISO standards preferred

  • Supervisory experience preferred
