Landscaping by J. Michael Sales Lead – Commercial Construction and Landscaping in Marshfield, Massachusetts

We are expanding our team to include a Senior Sales Lead, dedicated to driving our growth in commercial construction and landscaping projects.

Position Overview:

The Sales Lead will be instrumental in fostering and expanding client relationships, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and leading our sales initiatives within the commercial construction and landscaping sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with a robust background in landscape design/architecture and a proven track record in sales within relevant industries.

Sales & Sales Strategy Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Sales Plan in collaboration with the General Manager, targeting commercial construction and landscaping projects.

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities, maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective projects and utilizing tools for market analysis and lead management.

  • Conduct cost calculations, prepare detailed estimates, and present proposals for landscaping construction projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budget constraints.

  • Analyze commercial landscape opportunities and evaluate project requirements to develop accurate and competitive bids.

  • Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages, including detailed cost breakdowns, timelines, and project scopes, following industry standards and client specifications.

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, ensuring clarity and mutual agreement on project expectations and deliverables.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive customer databases, documenting key information on target clients and market dynamics.

  • Maintain continuous engagement with current clients for business retention and develop follow-up maintenance service contracts to ensure long-term client satisfaction.

  • Oversee the transition from sales to installation, ensuring design integrity and client expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design/Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in landscaping, construction, or a related field is required, demonstrating practical knowledge and skills applicable to job responsibilities

  • A proven track record of sales in residential and commercial maintenance work, or similar industry

  • Working knowledge of hardscape and masonry techniques, plant identification, irrigation installation and service and snow operations and products.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong business relationships.

  • Proficient in customer database and Excel

  • Valid Driver’s License willingness to travel up to 50% to meet business needs.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capable of walking extended distances (minimum of 3 miles daily) and lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs.

  • Must have the physical capacity for prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and twisting.

  • Able to walk and climb and descend hills and stairs.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, enduring temperatures from below 0°F to above 100°F.

  • Must be physically able to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks during company hours.

  • Free from pre-existing conditions that limit the ability to meet these physical demands.
