Summary:

The Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for Fiber Optic network design, engineering, and execution of projects that provide communication infrastructure and services to the company. Additional responsibilities include generating detailed engineering designs and documentations needed for the fiber installation, configuration, and commissioning of communication equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide engineering support for emergent projects, fiber expansion, new fiber routes, diversified fiber routes, network reliability and enhancement.

• Review project documentation and provide general counsel to the project team about telecom requirements and needs.

• Create high level diagrams in MS VISIO for overall project scope.

• Site walk to determine telecom scope of work.

• Create conceptual, preliminary and detail network design (Inside and Outside substation).

• Review detailed engineering design packages submitted by vendors. This includes reviewing detailed substation drawings (Wiring diagrams, Cable Schedules, Rack drawings etc.)

• Provide the “Issued For Construction” (IFC) design package and review As-Built documents after project completion.

• Support telecom engineering projects from start to completion.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

• 10+ years of related experience with commanding knowledge of Physical Fiber Network Design and OTDR testing
