The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting will be a key resource to provide analysis and guidance on compliance with U.S. GAAP. This will include analysis and conclusions on technical accounting issues, review and accounting for M&A activities, finance special projects, development and maintenance of critical accounting policies, assist with aspects of SOX compliance, support review of contracts for revenue recognition, and support external financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the organization at both Corporate and the Divisions to identify and research complex accounting issues and provide accounting guidance.
Evaluate business transactions for proper accounting treatment and prepare technical accounting memos that analyze and conclude on accounting issues.
Analyze and interpret accounting standards to support new business requirements.
Develop and maintain U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting policies and manage the implementation of any new pronouncements.
Participate in special projects and perform analyses related to acquisitions, financing transactions, impairment testing, and other corporate-level initiatives.
Support the external reporting team with the preparation and review of SEC filings and evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements on the Company’s financial statements and disclosures.
Support external audit and quarterly review requirements.
As a technical accounting expert, support review of contracts and appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 842.
Develop and monitor compliance with internal accounting policies and operating procedures.
Assist with the management and execution of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance program.
Develop and implement training to internal stakeholders that builds both a general understanding of U.S. GAAP principles and the impact of business transactions on the financial statements.

Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting, including but not limited to, business combinations (ASC 805), capitalized software (ASC 350), debt (ASC 470), investments (ASC 321), leases (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), asset impairments and sales (ASC 360), share based compensation (ASC 718), contingent liabilities (ASC 450), and various other technical matters.
Strong research and analytical skills
Prior supervisory or management experience (3-5 years)
Process oriented with strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills. Must be able to communicate at all levels within the organization including executive and senior management and external auditors
Ability to complete multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Proficient in excel
Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self to meet requirements and deadlines.
Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate others to achieve results.
- Masters Degree in Accounting, MBA or related field.
7+ years of previous Technical Accounting /major public accounting firm experience (including a minimum of 4 years in public accounting, required.)
Experience with Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management preferred
Experience with Workiva, a plus
