The Sensor Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber (SC5) Department in the Digital, RF, and Power Products Team at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong mixed signal PCB design skills. Our digital electronic system designs include signal processing, command and control, communications, and user interfaces for military applications.
Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills. Each section manager is responsible for their members’ performance, career development and assigning tasks that balance the employees’ interests with current needs of the project teams.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
This position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Design embedded processor circuit boards using CAD tools
Work within a team of engineers developing designs based on modeling and simulations
Work with Systems Engineers and other development team members in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
Help drive projects and execute to program schedules on time and budget
May lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
Demonstrate self-motivation, with little supervision
Support internal and external technical reviews
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, STEM or equivalent discipline
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the design and implementation of mixed signal electronic circuits and systems to include any combination of the following:
Experience implementing high speed memory (DDR3 or DDR4) and/or high speed SERDES designs
Experience using engineering CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition Designer for the design of complex circuit board assemblies
Signal Integrity analysis skills including experience using tools such as Hyperlynx SI
Experience with Power Integrity analysis tools such as Mentor’s Hyperlynx PI
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience.
Qualifications We Value:
Experience with RADAR system hardware
Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems
Experience constructing test and integration plans for circuit boards
Experience implementing low noise, low voltage, high current, power regulation designs
Experience constructing test and integration plans for circuit boards
A history of successfully fielding and troubleshooting a variety of systems including custom designed processor and/or FPGA based circuit boards
Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team
Experience mentoring junior and senior engineers
Proven track record of meeting system requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets
A history of successfully addressing thermal challenges
Embedded system design experience utilizing microprocessors and microcontrollers along with C code based programming
Some FPGA development or verification skills using SystemVerilog, OVM, or VHDL with some experience with vendor logic synthesis tools (such as Xilinx Vivado)
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
Existing security clearance
