The Senior Counsel, Bioprocess Americas will support all aspects of the Cytiva Bioprocess business in the Americas region and serve as a strategic partner for the Cell Culture Media Business Unit. This position will report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Bioprocess Americas.

This role will be part of the Cytiva Legal & Compliance team and may be located out of either our office in Marlborough, MA, or our manufacturing site in Logan, UT, in a hybrid capacity. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Bioprocess teams throughout the Americas to support / negotiate commercial sales, direct sourcing, and R&D contracts and other complex collaborations, including global master sales agreements with global pharma customers.

  • Partner with the Cell Culture Media business unit leadership team to help shape and execute business strategy and drive eyes-open risk navigation and risk mitigation activities with business leaders.

  • Dig into the business by identifying opportunities to create and improve processes to advance Cytiva’s business and legal priorities and mitigate legal risk and providing legal & compliance training to the business teams to help them identify and navigate the risks they may encounter.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Americas-based manufacturing sites for all matters of legal issues, including in support of Quality & Regulatory matters.

  • Advise the business on a host of issues related to compliance, privacy, antitrust, quality / regulatory, and advertising / promotional matters and manage disputes and litigation—including managing outside counsel—that may arise.

  • Collaborate with and support other parts of Cytiva and the Danaher Legal & Compliance team on an “as needed” basis.

Who you are

  • JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership.

  • Significant (7+ years) business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex business transactions in a regulated environment (i.e. purchase, sale and distribution agreements) and advising the business on areas like operations, sourcing, R&D, or sales, preferably with experience gained in the biopharma or life sciences industry.

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.

  • Proven team player with ability to work across and clearly communicate to all levels of the organization including multiple functional and business stakeholders; in particular, demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior business leaders.

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$180,000. This is the range we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
