What to expect:

  • Lead preparation and review of annual U.S. income tax returns, extensions and quarterly estimates.

  • Collaborate with State and Local team to prepare and review annual state and local income tax returns, extensions and quarterly estimates.

  • Oversee preparation and review of quarterly cash tax forecasts supporting effective approval and execution of estimated tax payments by Treasury/Accounting.

  • Responsible for federal audits, building strong relationships with federal auditors and securing favorable outcomes through strategic analysis and documentation, drafting concise responses to Information Document Requests, and representing Company at hearings before tax authorities.

  • Support State and Local team by providing relevant documentation for state and local income/franchise tax audits.

  • Analyze and interpret U.S. federal tax law changes and their corresponding impact to state tax law such as GILTI, FDII, BEAT, FTCs, CAMT, and 163(j), to minimize the organization’s tax liability and ensure future compliance.

  • Collaborate with Tax Reporting team to oversee quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision review and enhance alignment with financial reporting standards.

  • Document and adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley Tax Controls.

What we expect:

  • Assess, develop and implement federal and state planning initiatives to strategically position the Company, including opportunities to reduce its effective rate and cash tax obligations.

  • Support the Company in M&A activity, including due diligence, structuring and the integration of corporate acquisitions within the Hologic tax function.

  • Forge effective relationships with business partners throughout the company and serve as a key resource to resolve tax issues arising from business operations.

  • Research and analyze federal tax issues, monitor legislation.

  • Oversee and manage identification and calculation of U.S. and state research and development credits.

  • Ensure cohesive and effective coordination between tax department and Company’s sales, finance, operations, and legal personnel.

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend business improvements and opportunities.

  • Train, develop, and mentor professional staff of two.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. Master’s in taxation preferred.

  • CPA and/or JD preferred.

  • 5+ years federal tax experience.

  • Experience handling federal controversies.

  • Familiarity with various software systems and capabilities (e.g. OneSource, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Alteryx, Power Bi etc.).

  • Strong team building, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical, tax research, organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate in a global, cross-functional team environment.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $101,400 to $169,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
