The Sr. Solutions Analyst/Lead, R&D is a seasoned analyst responsible for providing sound guidance and insight on the uniform and interoperable software enterprise architecture across Breast & Skeletal Health Solutions by contributing to a culture of sound architectural design and implementing industry leading practices. S/he will add value by partnering with the Director, Solutions Architecture, R&D to help guide the architectural strategy for product platforms for Healthcare IT and Connectivity and support the product life cycle management across R&D for BSH.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with internaland external partners, enhancing their business activities through flexible andresponsive customer service.

  • Partner with R&D and ISCybersecurity in their efforts to ensure Connectivity, Interoperability, andCybersecurity of Hologic devices and creation of a Connectivity Center ofExcellence for the division.

  • Work with and provide insight to R&Don the product integration and connectivity strategy that deliver cloud/SaaSsolutions and mobile-first solutions with a cutting-edge user experience.

  • Proactively communicate withstakeholders, providing clear and timely status updates

  • Partner with product architects acrossthe product platforms. Provide a balanced perspective of technical,architectural, and business considerations; be a catalyst for transforming andfuture-proofing our architecture; and be able to communicate to a wide range oftechnical and non-technical audiences both internally and with clients andbusiness partners.

  • Support the efforts in establishingscalability and best practices for product platforms. Provide insights on product/systemimprovement and development based on scalability, performance, and cost.

  • Provide architectural leadership andguidance to collaborate and support all areas of the Hologic Business. Will also provide support and guidance onApplication integration and Middleware solutions, working closely with ISGlobal Services.

  • Support the product life cyclemanagement process and applications for BSH R&D. Ensure technical andworkflow issues are identified, researched, resolved, and communicated in atimely manner.


Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Services, Medical Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent MS – IS/IT desired


  • Minimum of 10+ years related workexperience developing, designing and architecting enterprise scale solutions,including experience in IT Application Management, IT Architecture andSolutions

  • Architecting and developingenterprise-class APIs and RESTful web services.

  • UI development technologies such asHTML5, JavaScript, Node.JS, AngularJS and bootstrap.

  • Developing and deploying cloud/SaaSsolutions.

  • Relational and non-structured databases.

  • SOA, BPM (Business Process Management)and other Middleware tools

  • EPM and BI solutions

  • Waterfall and Agile methodologies (i.e.TOGAF and Scrum)

  • Work/effort scoping and estimation

  • Managing and delivering high profileprojects

  • Medical Device Industry experiencepreferred

  • Business process management experiencepreferred

Skills and knowledge must span multiple architecture domains (e.g. Application/solution architecture, Technical/Infrastructure architecture, Information/Data Architecture & Business Architecture) to ensure balanced solutions. Well versed in various enterprise technologies, including but not limited to:

  • Modern OOP languages (i.e. .NET, Java),scripting languages (i.e. Perl)

  • Relational databases (high performingappliances and traditional client server)

  • Schedulers (i.e. Autosys)

  • Middleware (i.e. WebLogic, Informatica)

  • SOA – Service Oriented Architecture

  • Identity Management

  • Collaboration

  • Mobile Platform

  • ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning

  • Product Life Cycle Management(Oracle/Agile)

  • SaaS – Software as a Service

  • Ability to work independently and beself-motivated

  • Strong communicator and ability to workwith IT and business execs

  • Ability to influence and navigate across cross-functional environments

  • Ability to navigate acrosscross-functional group environments

  • Entrepreneurial spirit to drive growthinitiatives and opportunities

  • Leadership, Project Management andFacilitation skills required
