Synchrony AVP, Directory Engineer in MARLBOROUGH, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Synchrony is undergoing significant changes to authentication technologies including the move to a cloud-based authentication platform which requires strategic changes in directory services environments. This role supports the transformation with particular focus on Active Directory as this is the key directory service for the firm.

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Synchrony Financial directory services environment provides critical infrastructure and security services to the environment and other business-critical applications. The Senior Directory Engineer will be a key subject matter expert to drive support and implementation for the Synchrony Financials’ Active Directory (AD) and other LDAP directories. This position will work closely with our business partners and environment stakeholders to develop and maintain directory service solutions to suit the needs of the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drivetechnicalstrategy identifyingopportunities to innovate, extendto cloud technologies (e.g. Azure AD), and enhance directory service capabilities in partnership with theIAM Architect.

  • Serve astechnicalescalation point for application support andtroubleshooting;providing guidance and direction in resolution of issues and/or complex system problems.

  • Subject matter expert for directory service project engagements; assisting application and business teams with application integrations onto the platform.

  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies including installation, configuration, architecture, and troubleshooting.

  • Participate in SOX IT-404, regulatory, PCI-DSS and internal audit testing

  • Verify the integrity ofsystem monitoring,and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in directory services administration and operating system knowledge OR in lieu of thebachelor’sdegree, a minimum of 4 years of experience in directory services administration and operating system knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in directory services experience with application integration, conversions and troubleshooting

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in directory services system security (authentication, authorization, audit) administration

  • Minimum1-yearuser administration experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Active Directory (AD)and Azure AD

  • Experience with Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) and Virtual Directory Services (VDS)

  • Experience with enterprise tools such asQuest Enterprise Reporter, Recovery Manager, Change Auditor.

  • Experience with AGPM andAnixisPassword Policy Enforcer

  • Working experience with UNIX /LINUX /LDAP Utilities (i.e.  LDIF)

  • Experience withPowerShellscripting

  • New application integration support (SME-based)

  • Able to perform problem isolation, resolution and follow-up for system, application and customer problems.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills

  • Able to communicate problems and resolution concisely.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 60,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
