Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides administrative support for cycle counting, forecasting, scheduling, material releases, and inventory management. Works closely with production departments. Prepares updated shipment status and maintains records for inventory purpose. Reviews work order material requirements and works closely with production manager to provide other assistance where needed.

Detailed Description:

  • Provide support to Production Manager.

  • Responsible for cycle counting systems.

  • Works closely with production departments on production control issues.

  • Keep accurate record of inventory.

  • Works on problems of limited scope.

  • Plans and issues work orders based on master scheduler/MRP.

  • Plans and coordinates outside build of subassemblies to meet master and ship schedules.

  • Coordinates sales orders and work orders with production floor.

  • Expedite and track outside build assemblies’ shortages.

  • Prepare status of shipments per ship schedule daily.

  • Review work orders material requirements with manufacturing supervisor to determine if on hand materials are enough to complete production on schedule and report the status to materials supervisor and purchasing.

  • Other duties assigned by materials control supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Some college courses related to relative field preferred. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar position required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and a intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Other Essential Duties

  • Must have intermediate knowledge of computer applications including Excel, Word, Baan, and Outlook.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
