The Marion Institute Marketing & Communications Manager in Marion, Massachusetts

The Marion Institute (MI) is celebrating its 30-year anniversary as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose work engages individuals and communities in systems level solutions at the intersection of food, wellness, and the environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Working closely with the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager will create and implement the strategy for all communications, website, public relations, collateral, and events to consistently articulate and brand the Marion Institute?s mission. Web Content (E-Newsletters, Social Media, and Website): Collaborate and communicate regularly with colleagues to collect and organize content. Create and distribute MI and programmatic e-newsletters (research, content gathering, copywriting, production, posting). Compose, edit and manage social media content, for the organization as a whole, as well as individual programs, as needed (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube). Manage website to reflect current work and events (compose, edit, and post). Marketing and Communications: With Executive Director, implement and maintain marketing and communications plans that support the long-term strategic vision of the organization. Preserve the overall look, feel and meaning of the MI brand, mission and identity. Work with MI team and outside graphic designers and publishers to produce and distribute MI promotional materials (brochure, mailers, postcards, annual year-end report, business cards, etc.). Manage public relations for the organization as a whole, as well as individual programs, as needed (targeted e-newsletters, press releases to local, regional and national print, radio and TV). Serve as a member of the MI Development Committee to collaborate on fundraising strategies, both day-to-day as well as special campaigns, events, mailings and appeals. Events: Collaborate with MI Team to develop and implement plans and logistics for in-person community and virtual events and fundraisers. Design, brand, and lead all outreach for events. Manage and oversee events in conjunction with MI teammates. Additional duties, as assigned. Requirements & Skills The candidate must possess the following: Respect for diversity of opinion, experience, and background. Enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and positive can-do attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Skill to craft compelling stories about a unique organization. 3+ years of professional marketing and/or communications experience required. Social media management experience in a professional setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience maintaining website content. Preferred skills: Email marketing experience. Experience with graphics programs such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop). Knowledge and/or experience with Google Ads (Google AdWords). Familiarity with WordPress web content management. Experience with event planning. Professional experience in a non-profit setting. Preference will be given to residents of the Southcoast MA community. Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
