Pay Rate: Up to $25.00 per hour (based on experience with Copper Torch Brazing)

Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Copper Torch Brazers to join our team. This is not a welding role; it is specifically focused on Copper Torch Brazing. Ideal candidates are those looking to grow into a permanent role with our company. Candidates affiliated with the Welding Union will not be considered, as this opportunity is geared toward individuals seeking long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Braze components to assemble metal parts as specified by layouts, work orders, or blueprints using a hand torch.

  • Align and clamp workpieces together using tools such as rulers, squares, templates, fixtures, jigs, or vises.

  • Assemble, mount, and adjust components such as compressors, condensers, oil separators, expansion tanks, and others according to blueprints, piping diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications.

  • Select appropriate torch tips, flux, and brazing alloy based on data charts or work orders.

  • Connect hoses from the torch to regulator valves and cylinders containing oxygen and specified fuel gases (acetylene or natural gas).

  • Light torch flames, adjust gas pressure and mixture to achieve the desired flame color and size.

  • Apply flux to joint workpieces or dip the braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.

  • Guide torch and rod along joints or seams to heat materials to brazing temperature and bond workpieces together.

  • Inspect seams for defects and rebrazes if necessary.

  • Clean joints using wire brushes or cleaning solutions.

  • Ensure product quality and conformance to manufacturing standards and specifications by examining finished products for defects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Copper Torch Brazing.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Knowledge of brazing techniques, tools, and materials.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Willingness to grow into a permanent brazing role.

Additional Notes

  • This is NOT a welding position.

  • Candidates must understand the scope of work involves Copper Torch Brazing only.

  • Union-affiliated welders seeking temporary work will not be considered.
