Eliot Community Human Services Physical Therapist, Early Intervention - Fee For Service/Per diem in Malden, Massachusetts

Eliot is seeking a a Fee For Service Physical Therapist (Bilingual Prefered) to work part-time in our Early Intervention Program. Familiarity with infancy/early childhood preferred

Eliot’s Early Intervention Programs provide home & community based services for children from birth to three years of age, who may have, or are at risk of having, a delay in development. A multidisciplinary team of specialists assess the child’s needs & work with the family to maximize skill acquisition, facilitating optimal growth in the areas of cognitive, language, motor, & social development. The hands-on, family-focused approach to services strives to increase parents’ understanding of their child’s strengths & needs, & supports parents in learning how to foster their child’s growth & development.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, screen, and evaluate performance of children using standard measures.

  • Provide intervention in the areas of postural control, mobility, muscle tone, range of motion, and needs for adaptive devices and prostheses.

  • Provide transdisciplinary services to families and children enrolled in the program.

  • Develop and ensure follow up to treatment goals in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Plans are developed in accordance with the requirements of the funding source, sound clinical practice, and in collaboration with the family.

  • Utilize a team approach to treatment planning and service delivery with other staff members, family members, physicians, and agencies.

  • Generate assessment reports, IFSP’s, progress notes, and insurance verification reports within established timelines.

  • Provide in service training to other team members within areas of expertise.

  • Maintains client records in accordance with Department of Public Health and Eliot protocols.

  • Attend staff development and professional seminars and meetings to maintain and upgrade professional skills.

  • Comply with all statutes and regulations relevant to the maintenance of clinical standards in the Commonwealth, e.g., mandated reporting.

  • Complete all work as required in a timely and professional manner.

  • EI staff members who work 20 or more hours and provide EI Service Coordination are required to participate in the EI Specialist Certification Program to assure the quality of personnel providing EI supports and services to families. EI staff will work with their supervisor to complete and submit their CEIS portfolio by their third anniversary, as per DPH requirements.

Schedule: Varied

Hourly Rate: $70.00, 6% increase if bilingual in a needed language
