Position Overview: Physical Education Teacher & Track & Field Head Coach
The Physical Education Teacher plays a vital role in fostering student development by delivering high-quality instruction, collaborating with colleagues and parents, and supporting the overall mission of the school. The ideal candidate will be passionate about physical education, dedicated to student success, and committed to upholding MVRCS’s high standards. As the Head Coach for the Track & Field program, the candidate will also lead and develop student athletes, ensuring they grow both physically and mentally through structured training and competition.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an effective classroom structure and schedule.
Implement the designated curricula (DI, CK) with fidelity.
Track and document student progress on a daily/weekly basis.
Participate in all professional development training sessions.
Attend and contribute to grade-level team meetings and staff meetings.
Engage in peer practice sessions (if designated) for 30 minutes each week.
Report curriculum or special education concerns to the Lead Teacher.
Prepare and distribute four progress reports and four report cards annually.
Assist with assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duties.
Carry out duties as assigned by the School Director or Business Manager
Serve as the Head Coach for the Track & Field program
Develop and implement training programs for student-athletes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in physical education, coaching, or youth-oriented athletic programs.
Coaching experience with middle and/or upper school track & field teams.
Must pass the Massachusetts
Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) within one year of hire.
