Triangle, Inc. was established in 1971 by business leaders and families who believed that we are all people with ability. In our early years, we provided on-site employment opportunities for people with disabilities from Medford, Malden, and Everett. Because people with disabilities wanted to work and live in the community, we also opened three community homes in our first decade.
Since 2001, Triangle, Inc. has rapidly expanded to provide youth and adults with the innovative career, leadership, and safety skills they need to live more independent, dignified lives. Through our array of Career Services we helped people secure or advance 234 careers in Fiscal Year 2016 – many in growth industries like health care and hospitality. Our School-to-Career and Empowering People for Inclusive Communities (EPIC) initiatives equip high school students with disabilities and recent graduates with the tools to start careers and serve and lead their local communities. Our national award-winning IMPACT:Ability program provides evidence-based abuse prevention training that empowers people of all abilities to live safe, healthy lives. At our nine beautiful homes in Malden, Melrose, Peabody, Danvers, Reading, Stoneham, and Saugus, we provide support to 43 people to help them enjoy more independent, dignified lives.
Triangle, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and passionate individual to become a member of our Workforce Development team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills, as this role will be heavily focused on career planning and case management for groups of individuals with disabilities. You will also be responsible for coordinating with individuals service coordinators/external staff to support these individuals to reach their career goals, allowing you to demonstrate your skills and abilities in the process. This is a spilt position where you will be splitting your time between our Pleasant Street location in Malden and our Randolph location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Equips people across the disability spectrum with needed career planning and job searching skills
Consistently connects with community employers in order to secure competitive jobs for youth and adults with disabilities referred for employment services
Collaborates effectively with people with disabilities and their support teams (i.e., educators, parents, group homes, counselors, clinical professionals) to provide clear pathways to career track employment, or advance in existing careers
Focuses clients on employment opportunities within the career pathway: assists with applications, assessments, conducts evaluations and provides follow up as needed
Works within all programming within the department in one-to-one and group trainings
Completes required service documentation reviews, meets regularly with individuals and others to provide needed services and supports, and ensures appropriate communication Workforce Development Team
Communicates regularly with referring Vocational Rehabilitation counselors to discuss individuals’ progress and develop proactive plan to remove barriers to employment
Partners effectively with staff in Triangle’s services (i.e. MRC funded Pre-Employment Transition Services funded Transitions to Successful Careers program and School-to-Career Program and others) to enhance and expand the range of career development services available for these students
Provides transportation to individual career seekers to interviews, employment assessments, or job searching activities in the community as needed
Works in collaboration with the Business Engagement Manager to secure job placements and vocational opportunities
Assists individuals receiving services in obtaining competitive employment that is aligned to the specific pathway and their career goals
Partners effectively with staff in different departments, or who are focused on different programs (i.e. career pathway cohorts, Day Services, IMPACT or EPIC) to enhance and expand the range of career development services available to clients
Provides On-Going Supports as contracted for by state funder
Coordinates projects as necessary, to terms written into grants, to ensure clients success (i.e. scheduling exploration events for students, hosting a job fair, or scheduling a CNA exam
Provides case management support to ensure systemic barriers do not impede individuals from reaching employment goals (i.e. connecting clients to resources such as childcare or discounted MBTA use)
Effectively provide all five Pre-ETS components (i.e. Job Exploration Counseling, Work Readiness Training, Work Based Learning Experience, counseling in Post-Secondary Education and Self-Advocacy Training) to students 14-22 years old in schools or a community based location
Knowledgeable of all aspects of the Workforce Development Department such as CIES work, Pre-ETS work and career pathway projects
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or three to five years of experience in a human services and/or educational environment that includes at least two years’ experience working with people with disabilities and a demonstrated record of success in job development
Must have valid Driver's License and a clear driving record
First Aid and CPR or willingness to become certified
Must clear state and federal background check
