GE Aerospace Sustainment Supply Optimization Leader in Lynn, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Optimization Forecasting Leader to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring that our parts forecasting aligns with business needs, drives efficiency in operations, and optimizes our inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demand planning, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description

Forecasting and Demand Planning:

  • Lead the shop visit forecasting team and ensure fleet updates and shop visit forecasts are timely and accurate.

  • Provide direction and leadership to the Piece Part Forecasting team. Support the PPF leader in driving key activities such as: coordinating demand reviews for S&OP cycle, partner in reducing the overconsumption metric, and partnering with 3rd-party providers to ensure successful execution of deliverables.

  • Own and define the value stream from Removal to Induction to Return to the Customer. Connect shop visit forecast to workscope and piece part forecast. Improve connections across the value stream.

  • Develop and maintain accurate parts forecasts in collaboration with product leaders and general managers.

  • Utilize historical data, market trends, and business insights to predict future demand.

  • Conduct regular demand reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives and market conditions.

Modeling Team Leader

  • Provide direct support to Portfolio General Managers, Contract Performance Managers (CPM’s) and Sales team for the generation, accuracy, and timely completion of Global Shop Visit Forecasts (GSVF) and Life Cycle Cost (LLC) predictive models.

  • Manage New Deal / Fleet Baseline models supporting new engine sales and services campaign support, and other aftermarket analysis.

  • Drive continuous improvement for data sources, analytical methods, and forecasting models to improve accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.

  • Familiarity with or experience using modeling / simulation software or exposure to ICAM (Infrastructure Contractual Agreement Modeling)

  • Supply Optimization Functional leader: Partner to develop capabilities and define requirements for supply/forecasting pillar in digital logistics sustainment.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, supply chain, and operations, to align forecasts with business needs.

  • Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.

  • Attend Level-4 Daily Management meetings with the Product line services leaders and CSM team.

  • Provide clear and actionable insights to support decision-making processes.

  • Lead the coordination with product leaders and business General Managers (GMs) to align and approve the shop visit forecast

  • Ensure clear communication with the S&OP team and Piece Part Forecasting team, consuming insights from the Shop Visit Forecast data.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in forecasting and inventory management, leveraging FLIGHT DECK fundamentals.

  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in forecasting methodologies and tools.

General Responsibilities

  • All activities related to the supervision, organization and execution of a service project, including scope, time, contract (if not covered by a dedicated Contract Manager) cost & quality management. Responsibility for project methodologies and standards including scheduling and control , to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Developing expertise in own function. May include roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional or thought leadership . Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s))

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field and 8 years’ experience working in a global matrix organization.

  • 5 years proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.

  • 3 years’ experience directly leading teams. Proven ability to coach, inspire, develop employees and drive performance.

  • This is an on-site position and this role must work from the GE office in Evendale, OH or Lynn, MA

  • Willing to travel as needed (10-15%)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization and facilitating across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and written communication skills.

  • Results orientation and High Customer Focus – must deliver sustainable results, delivering value for the customer

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a senior leader perspective and leverage lean to drive improvement

  • Collaborative, team orientation – demonstrates humility and curiosity, partnering with colleagues and stakeholders to drive outcomes
