Job Description Summary
Activities aimed at proving a concept to be valid or technically feasible by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Work in this family typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conceptual activities relating to the sciences of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
Developing knowledge of the movement of air as a fluid through complex mechanical systems and the exchange of thermal energy between components. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements.
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
Collaborate with others by sharing engineering information to solve problems and promote open dialogue. Asks questions and checks for understanding.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects/tasks consistent with engineering policies/procedures and communicates results.
Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how the work of the team contributes to the area.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related to heat transfer or fluid mechanics preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs
Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly learn interact with various internal heat transfer computer tools
Ability to understand and write basic coding & scripts
Early adopter of change, adjusting to find faster, simpler approaches that are impactful
