    Position Overview: As a member of the GLSS Senior Leadership Team, The Director of Development is responsible for leading all development, marketing and public relations activities for Greater Lynn Senior Services (GLSS). This includes annual campaign and event planning and execution, donor cultivation, volunteer engagement and community collaboration. The position develops, implements and monitors a comprehensive and successful fundraising plan to expand philanthropic support of the organization including identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing corporate and individual leads, foster strong donor and sponsor stewardship, and seeking, applying for and managing grant funding. Additionally this position oversees the marketing and public relations teams' efforts to tell the GLSS story. Development and Marketing/PR have traditionally and effectively worked hand in hand at GLSS.

    Position Responsibilities: Works with Fundraising staff and CEO design and implement a comprehensive and successful Development Funding Plan annually. Develop strong relationships within the community. Act as primary point of contact for funding, donations, and fundraising event inquiries. Working with Fundraising staff, collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and funding received. Oversee branding, image and consistency of messaging in all organization materials. Design and produce annual giving campaign, as well as auxiliary marketing promotions and outreach materials.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in managing successful fundraising plans, community outreach initiatives and public relations

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as managing social media platforms.

  • Exceptional communication skills including writing, public speaking and active listening

  • Customer service, communication and recordkeeping experience required

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects with strict attention to detail

  • Solid organizational, time management and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines required

  • Strong collaborative skills that allow for fostering and promoting business relationships and partnerships within the community

  • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds

    Hours Full Time, 40 hours per week
