Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for developing the next-generation multi-disciplinary design system being used to design GE Aerospace Jet Engines. In addition, you will support the build, deployment, and maintenance of the system.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Partner with Product Owners to develop engineering software to support the design of jet engine components.

· Develop methods, tools, and utilities to enable a multidisciplinary user base to design & analyze components from parametric geometry definition, thru design and analysis.

· Collaborate with design teams to understand needs and deliver solutions to make them more productive.

· Ensure the integrated design environment enables reliable, seamless handoffs between disciplines and organizations, including teams upstream and downstream.

· Integrate software to leverage commercial engineering codes and High-Performance Computing.

· Participate in design and code reviews, including the verification and validation process.

· Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

· Ensure proper documentation of technical data/methodologies, and report results to leadership.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical disciplines

· Minimum 3 years of engineering or software development experience​

Desired Characteristics

· Experience developing physics-based engineering software

Industry Programming Experience (C/C++/C#, NX Open, APDL, bash/shell scripting)

· Experience integrating with Commercial Software API’s

· Experience developing, compiling, and deploying Windows based desktop applications

· Demonstrated ability to understand engineering customer requirements and draft software-based approaches to satisfy them

· Experience with turbomachinery, heat transfer, mechanical, or aero design tools

· Demonstrated understanding of gas turbine components & design philosophy

· Cross-functional, teaming, communication, and presentation skills

· Track record collaborating with diverse teams to understand and solve problems

· Lean and/or Agile project experience

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
