As Advanced Lead Compressor Rotor Design Engineer, you will own all rotor hardware in the compressor module and demonstrate leadership in progressing the T901 engine critical rotating parts design. You will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, apply engineering concepts to design and manufacturing issues, develop and execute team objectives, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the design of the T901 (https://www.geaerospace.com/military-defense/engines/t901) compressor rotor hardware.
Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Demonstrates knowledge of best practices and how rotor hardware integrates with others
Documents technical data generated by testing and analysis, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Supports complex manufacturing processes common to rotating hardware, performs manufacturing support to deliver engine hardware in line with the T901 test plan.
Leads projects with significant business impact and will provide technical leadership to personnel supporting component testing and other design and manufacturing projects.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Participates on teams assigned to address specific team initiatives and design challenges.
Participates as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews for both internal and external customers.
Prepares invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
Desired Characteristics
An additional minimum of 2 years’ experience in turbomachinery mechanical design engineering
Demonstrated expertise in CAD design and analysis, especially Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
Demonstrated expertise in rotor design, test, and analysis tools and systems.
Experience in manufacturing, especially high-precision, turbomachinery components.
Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Strong oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems independently.
Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
