Wellforce Supervisor of Security Training and Compliance in Lowell, Massachusetts

The Supervisor of Security Training and Compliance performs/supervises services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the Security Department and Lowell General Hospital. The Supervisor of Security Training and Compliance works cooperatively within the department and other services to create a system of quality health care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exercises independent judgment and demonstrates leadership skills necessary for efficient and effective operation of the campus department. Holds all reports accountable to all Lowell General and departmental standards of performance. Capable of assuming a formal leadership role in the absence of the Manager and Director of Security.

  • Sets a positive example by being present and creating and maintaining a productive and cooperative working atmosphere – with daily communication to all staff.

  • Ensures all new employees receive hospital and departmental orientation in a timely manner, including mandatory certifications, basic training, and required learning.

  • Responsible for the organization and creation of all training materials and guidelines to support basic training and continues job knowledge development.

  • Completes “restraint basics” and levels of intervention policy training directly with all new personnel upon hire, and annually with all security personnel.

  • Ensures all personnel are educated on all new and existing policies, procedures, standards, and expectations. Develops continuing education requirements and competencies for all personnel, utilizing Learning Central, Ellucid Policy Manager, Outlook email, and in-person classes as necessary.

  • Serves as an active instructor in the department’s safe restraint and officer self-defense program, to include CPI NCI and AVADE.

  • Coordinates all required learning and ensures active certification is maintained in all programs such as BLS Certification, FEMA IS 100, 200, 700 and 800, etc.

  • Reviews all Safety Reports and daily activity logs on a daily basis and takes the appropriate follow up actions.

  • Conducts timely investigations as needed and reviews/retains all necessary surveillance video in an organized database, to include all patient restraint-related surveillance captured on video.

  • Coordinates monthly and annual fire equipment inspections for specified campus. Manages all aspects of fire equipment regulatory compliance on campus, and all applicable off sites.

  • Assumes a lead role in respects to campus fire prevention during LFD inspections and TJC / CMS / MDPH surveys. Responsible for the management and accuracy of all fire prevention documentation. Responsible for the scheduling and completion of campus specific Code Red Educational Tests, including applicable off site properties, in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable off-site properties and campuses, and has adequately trained other department leaders on roles of response, inspections and knowledge.

  • Operates all security systems including surveillance, electronic controlled access, intrusion alarms, panic alarms, infant security, and identification badging, etc. Assures all applicable security personnel are adequately trained operators of these systems.

  • Provides all security personnel with positive reinforcement and constructive feedback designed to enhance performance. Makes suggestions to Manager and Director of

  • Security, and provides regular feedback about campus operations. Reports all concerns in a timely fashion.

  • Participates and serves as an active member of the Environment of Care Safety Committee and Workplace Violence Prevention & Intervention Committee. Analyzes, observes and recommends policies and procedures for safety within the organization. Submits quarterly and annual program evaluations.

  • Serves as Security and Safety subject matter expert for New Employee Orientation, Leadership Quality Pillar, and Extreme Violence Events training when designated to do so.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPI NCI Instructor / MOAB Instructor / ALICE Instructor / BLS CPR/AED Instructor; Driver’s License; IAHSS Membership and Certification

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred, or Military or Law Enforcement Experience
