Job Profile Summary

​ This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Network & Telecommunication Support duties: Develops, administers, and tests IT Systems Software, Hardware, and Databases, Data & Voice Networks, Data Processing Operations, End User Technology & Software Support, Conducts cost/benefit analyses for proposed IT projects as input to the organization’s IT roadmap. Provides specific, detailed information for technology selection, implementation, and deployment, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Typically centralized for design and procurement of services; However, local representatives may be needed for physical support and some Tier 2 support. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. A specialist level role that is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Typically manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager, coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals, resolving difficult and often complex problems.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for deployment, maintenance, and development of wide and local area networking including planning, setup, implementation, and support of sites. Works with Systems and Network manager on planning and design on network infrastructure plan and implements expansion and maintenance of Storage Area Network and assists Systems and Network Manager designing and planning future growth. Supports and monitors network security devices such firewalls, Intrusion Detection, and wireless controllers. Assumes full responsibility for capacity planning, setup, implementation, maintenance, and support including Storage Area Networks, Archive Systems, Network Area Storage (NAS), Gateways, Stand Alone storage systems, Optical Solutions, etc. Assists in the support for File Server Operating Systems including Meditech, Windows, Linux, Unix, etc. Analyzes and resolves faults, providing solutions to reduce downtime, and recommend upgrade to maintain an efficient redundant network.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  2. Five (5) years of experience in Information Systems Networking.

  3. Experience with multi-facility networking.

Preferred Qualifications :

  1. Healthcare Industry experience.

  2. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Duties and Responsibilities : The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Administers the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN and WAN devices across the enterprise including wireless.

  2. Maintains thorough working knowledge and support capabilities for the Hallmark Enterprise internal networking infrastructure and external connections including but not limited to TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wireless (all protocols), Routers, Switches (all levels), etc.

  3. Manages and administers all network appliances and monitoring systems. Responsible for responding to alerts and escalating to appropriate staff for a resolution.

  4. Maintains, upgrades and supports all Meditech systems including storage and VM Machines.

  5. Administers, maintains, and upgrades all systems related to wireless and recommend improvement and new wireless initiatives.

  6. Supports and maintains enterprise Firewalls and Intrusion protection systems. Monitor logs and perform maintenance. Recommend upgrades or improvements to existing structure.

7 Responsible for leading projects in LAN, WAN, Wireless, Storage, and network security appliance.

  1. Maintains current diagrams of Network topology, IP scheme, connectivity method, and wireless infrastructure.

  2. Maintains continuity of network and storage operations throughout the organization through consultation, technical leadership and project coordination.

  3. Administers the deployment, upgrades, development and expansion of Live and archive storage areas network. Assist management in design and planning for continuous improvement and expansion.

  4. Responsible for the maintenance support, deployment of remote access systems including but not limited to staff VPN access and vendors/partners VPN connectivity.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

  2. Largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment.

  3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.

  4. Able to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

  5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Excellent working knowledge of wide and local area networking theories and principals.

  2. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Wireless Systems, Storage Area Networks, Network Area Storage, Archive Systems, Enterprise Email, Storage Planning and configuration

  3. Ability to be an effective, collaborative team member.

  4. Ability to work in a concurrent task environment.

  5. Good communication skills.

  6. Ability to manage data and networking projects requiring data backup and restoration.

  7. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Operating Systems, FTP, HTTP.

  8. Good documentation skills.

  9. Ability to maintain pace with new technology.

  10. Capable of performing multiple concurrent tasks.
