New England Sports Floors Hardwood Floor Installer in Lowell, Massachusetts

Summary New England Sports Floors seeks a skilled Hardwood Floor Installer to join our team. Responsibilities include installing, sanding, and finishing hardwood floors in athletic facilities. Candidates must have proven experience, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. This role offers opportunities to work on prominent sports projects across New England. Salary: \$22-\$30 per hour Hours: 6:00 am start, typically 40 hrs per week. Time and a half after 40 hrs Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure, cut, and lay hardwood flooring in athletic facilities.
  • Sand floors to a smooth finish and apply stains, sealants, and finishes as required.
  • Ensure subfloors are clean, level, and ready for installation by removing old flooring, debris, and ensuring a smooth surface.
  • Select and prepare the appropriate types and quantities of hardwood materials for each project.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
  • Maintain and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the installation process.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • Maintain professional interactions with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the completed work.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in hardwood floor installation, sanding, and finishing. Experience with Maple Floors a plus
  • Experience using flooring tools and equipment, including saws, sanders, and finishing applicators.
  • Strong eye for detail to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and precision in measurements and cuts.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in various positions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact professionally with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability, with a commitment to completing projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites across New England preferred. Must be able to get to shop for start time
