BAE Systems is looking for a software developer to join a team of skilled engineers in creating and maintaining a suite of secure software products, including a Trusted Operating System, Cross Domain Solutions and other secure applications.

* Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a computer related field

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

  • Experience developing in C, C and Shell scripting

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) such as development and administration of daemons, SELinux policies and RPMS

  • Experience with TCP/IP Network protocols

  • Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities

  • The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings

  • Excellent team player who is willing to contribute in any capacity

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with administration of web servers

  • Experience with development of FAST CGI programs and UNIX Domain Sockets

  • Experience with Network protocols such as UDP, SMTP, SNMP and HTTPS

  • Knowledge of file transfer protocols like secure copy (scp), secure file transfer protocol (sftp) and HTTPS POST
