Research and People Analytics, Senior Manager

As a member of the People Analytics team, you will be empowered be creative and innovative, and a typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Leverage deep understanding of businesses that you support, you will conduct deep analysis and surface valuable insights and recommendations that influence our Workforce Strategy

  • This role is a perfect combination of strategic and tactical, where you will see your work being used to implement valuable business decisions. This is a strategic analytics role and NOT an HR Reporting role

  • Use the Takeda guiding principles to develop implementation guidelines, processes, communications, and training to support the ethical use of selection and assessment tools

  • Ensure the value of assessments through reliability, stability, criterion, content validation studies.

  • Test and analyze the efficacy of training and initiatives

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Conduct deep, thorough analysis ranging from deep-dive descriptive statistics to building statistical models to predict outcomes or identify key drivers of business outcomes

  • Partner with the HR technology team, IT, and various other stakeholders to ensure that systems are capturing the data that is necessary to facilitate proper analytics

  • Identify data needs and gaps, new technology, and innovative methods to ensure that we are using the best available tools for the job through vetting potential vendors or developing tools where needed

  • Be a strong advocate and defender of Data Privacy and partner with stakeholders in HR, Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy, Legal, etc.… to ensure that we are compliant, respectful, unbiased, and transparent about the work that we do

  • Review and assess the performance of future and/ or current leadership assessment and selection tools ensuring that they are job-related and measuring what they are developed to measure

  • Manage assessment vendors to ensure the timeliness and quality of deliverables and partner with procurement to scope new projects.

  • Share data and insights with business leaders that enable them to create high performing and engaged workforces.

  • Lead trainings on assessment ethics, best practices, and interpreting outcomes

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Quantitative Degree (Mathematics, Physics, Economics, etc.) with strong understanding of applied I/O Psychology, Assessment and Measurement, behavioral economics or other social science field

  • Experience with: multivariate statistics, (e.g., machine learning, multiple regression, structural equation modeling, trend analyses) program evaluation, utility analysis, survey research, data acquisition and organization for the purposes of building statistical models

  • Advanced proficiency in statistical software package(s) (e.g., SAS, SPSS, data query tools, SQL, Python, R) and Tableau or other visualization tool(s) as well as Microsoft Excel and Google G-Suite and other digital tools

  • Expertise in experimental design and measuring efficacy of trainings

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in developing and/ or vetting new hire or leadership assessments

  • Understanding of adverse impact, differential prediction, and ethics in assessment, measurement, advanced analytics, and research

  • Agile and able to work in ambiguous situations; experience in leading self and others to resolve issues with higher levels of management; Identify and resolve complex, technical operational and organizational problems

  • Experience in successfully leading cross-functional and multi-disciplinary work at a global scale.

  • Possess an orientation for results and excellence, inspiring confidence and demonstrating conceptual and analytical thinking, initiative and flexibility

  • Ability to drive results through global and cross functional teams that are not directly managed

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to distill and articulate key messages to executives, stakeholders and customers

  • Strong in strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into HR technology solutions

Interaction

  • Must possess outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across countries, business units / global functions to accomplish goals

  • Effective consulting, problem definition, hypothesis building, solution development and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to build key relationships influence key stakeholders with differing goals and priorities across levels from executives to analysts

Innovation

  • Address current and future customer needs through innovative and effective solutions at scale while enhancing employee experience and productivity

  • Continuously bring external leading market practices and evaluate applicability at Takeda

Complexity

  • Experience in multiple functions of HR (e.g. Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Learning and Development, HR Operations and Technology, Organizational Development, and/or Change Management)

  • Ability to comprehend and assess enterprise-wide implications from an employee data perspective

  • Good knowledge and skills in navigating diverse cultures across countries to determine most effective approach to develop alignment

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Masters or PhD in Economics, I/O Psychology, Assessment and Measurement or related field

  • Experience in generating meaningful insights and influencing data-driven decisions

  • Project management and change management experience, setting priorities, governance and decision rights, milestone tracking and measuring effectiveness of solutions

  • 3+ years’ experience working with People and Business data, building dashboard, developing models, and generating insights for decision making

  • Experience with qualitative research, design and analysis of surveys

  • Experience designing, developing and implementing dashboards using Power Bi, Tableau or other similar tools

  • Demonstrated learning agility, curiosity of data and information, and successful root cause analysis

  • Knowledge of statistical tools (e.g., SAS, R) for hypothesis testing and data mining analyses (e.g., multivariate regression and categorical, factor analysis, survival analysis)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
