MIT Lincoln Laboratory Manager, Field Site Operations in Lexington, Massachusetts

The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

What will you do?

Manage a team of security professionals that are driven to solve complex security problems in collaboration with Laboratory research teams and Government counterparts. Responsible for security management oversight, guidance and direction for all aspects of the Laboratory's local remote sites, field sites and test site locations across the US and Marshall Islands.

  • Provide functional and operational direction and guidance to all security managers/FSOs at field sites to include: Kwajalein, Socorro, NM; Crystal City, VA; Henderson, NV; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; Annapolis Junction, MD; and Los Angeles, CA. * Provide direction and guidance to a security administrator supporting local remote Massachusetts locations. * Provides functional and operation security oversight and guidance for activities at the Millstone Hill Radar Site (access control, construction specifications, classified mission support, etc.) * Provides functional and operation oversite for the security program at the Flight Test Facility and Antenna Test Range operations including access control, industrial security functions, closed area construction, restricted area designation, and flight missions and exercises. * Provides oversight for new remote facilities and test sites. * Creates and updates Concept of Operations security plans and Visitor Group Security Agreements enterprise wide to ensure appropriate implementation. Reviews, assesses impacts, and implements changes for new and updated government requirements.

What you need:

To work at MIT LL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements. * The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility * Must be a U.S. Citizen * Successfully pass a background check * Bachelor's degree in Business/Project Management, Industrial Security, or related field, with a minimum of 7 years extensive management and administrative responsibility in an industrial security environment * Thorough working knowledge of and technical experience with the application of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) 32 CFR Part 117 as well as applicable Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), DoD SAP and SCI Manuals and DoD Guides and Instructions * Experience in leading, developing and mentoring teams * Position will operate out of the Lexington, Massachusetts main facility with remote location travel as needed. Opportunity for remote work 1-2 days per week.

Research, take independent action, analyze problems and provide sound recommendations for a variety of security related issues * Computer skills: Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases such as DISS (Defense Information Security System) and NISS (National Industrial Security System). Knowledge of business software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, etc. * Flexibility: Comfortable responding to off-hours emergencies and local/overnight travel as needed.
