MIT Lincoln Laboratory Digital Engineering Center - Assistant Staff - Software Engineer in Lexington, Massachusetts
The Engineering Division works in partnership with all the other Laboratory technical divisions to design and build advanced technology systems of national importance. We embrace the use of digital technology to aid in our work and are undergoing a Digital Engineering transformation. The Digital Engineering Center has been established to provide a centralized approach to grow capability and adoption of digital engineering practices in prototype development. We are looking for a talented administrator for Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to join our team.
MIT Lincoln Lab is currently seeking an entry level software engineer to develop interfaces and applications for PLM, MBSE, and advanced simulation tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Engineers, Designers, and Fabrication Professionals to implement new functionality to advance our systems. The ideal applicant has familiarity with engineering or research driven environments and has experience using APIs to create applications.
Develop applications for MagicDraw and Aras Innovator
Collaborate with users and DEC team to develop requirements
Manage code on DevOps platform
Support improvements in overall systems reliability, configuration, license and databases
Define and understand the elements, connections, behaviors, and properties of an engineering software system
Interpret technical and business requirements to articulate the needs to be addressed
Identifies and proposes both business process and system design related re-engineering and streamlining opportunities for implementation
BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge of software engineering and programming (Java, Python, etc.)
Experience with of C++/object oriented programs, SQL, web application development, security and open source technologies
Experience using and developing APIs
Familiarity with DevOps
Familiarity utilizing industry-standard processes and tools for software development and collaboration such as version control, issue management, and code reviews.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate to a variety of stakeholders
ARAS Innovator PLM experience
MagicDraw API experience
Solid understanding of programming concepts with multiple programming environments and languages.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
