Charm Sciences Janitorial Supervisor in Lawrence, Massachusetts

Overview The Janitorial Supervisor role is a mid-level level, non-exempt position that reports to the Facilities Management team. This role supervises the cleaning and maintenance of buildings/facilities, assists in assigning janitorial staffs daily work schedules, trains janitorial staff, and maintains an orderly and safe environment. Orders stock and replenishes cleaning supplies. The Janitorial Supervisor oversees an assigned group of janitors in performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks. Essential Functions Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, doorways stairs, and mezzanines with hand or power equipment. Dust areas and fixtures that can collect dust/clean and polish water coolers and stainless-steel appliances. Empty trash containers, cardboard, and recycling bins; track and adhere to Waste Management schedule. Wash walls, baseboards, doors, windows, and sills in designated building areas as needed. Organize and relocate bins or wooden pallets to create more space and ensure clear and open aisles. Operate equipment including floor scrubbers, cardboard/trash compactors and controls, and fork trucks. Perform housekeeping duties such as replacing ceiling tiles, lightbulbs, and cleaning ceiling vents. Assist with light building repairs including wall repairs, spot painting, diamond plate flooring, and minor plumbing fixes. Ensures safety during inclement weather to include sanding/salting, shoveling snow, and providing weather mats on floors. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience performing the full range of janitorial duties and the safe handling of cleaning supplies. One-year supervisory experience in the janitorial field Ability to read and communicate in English effectively. Have a great attention to detail which assists with keeping the facility clean. Drivers license to travel between the buildings. Flexibility with hours due to emergency site issues. Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets. Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they relate to cleaning and sanitation measures. Knowledge of GMP/GLP. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Physical strength and agility are required to operate cleaning equipment, to safely lift and carry furniture, and bags of trash. Ability to climb stairs and ladders; ability to reach overhead for extended periods. Ability to stoop, kneel, twist, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Able to function in extreme hot and cold weather and non-weather conditions, such as cold room and freezers and outside work. We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
