The Trial Court Security Department is made up of over 1,000 dedicated Court Officers and Associate Court Officers who are assigned to each courthouse in the state. The Security Department contributes to the Trial Court\'s mission to deliver justice with dignity and speed by providing a safe and secure environment for the administration of justice. The Department continuously works to deliver effective security by: Preventing threats from gaining access to court buildings Reacting quickly and effectively to mitigate any security incident Applying technology and expertise to minimize security risks COURT OFFICER Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years of experience in security, law enforcement, corrections, the military, loss prevention, emergency medical services, or direct care social services. A Bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution may substitute for required work experience. Court Officer Entry Exam Examination Information Registration: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Friday, December 13, 2024. Testing Window: Monday, January 6, 2025 Friday, January 24, 2025 Location: Pearson VUE testing center or virtually through the OnVue testing service. During the week of December 16, 2024, approved applicants will receive an email from IOS with steps to schedule their test with Pearson VUE. Exam Fee: \$100 Fee Waiver Deadline: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 Reasonable Exam Accommodation Deadline: Friday, December 13, 2024 Prior Exams: Individuals who successfully passed the December 2023 Court Officer Entrance Exam are NOT required to take this exam. However, all applicants must complete the Physical Abilities Test and fulfill other hiring requirements outlined in this announcement and in accordance with Trial Court policy.
