Lawrence General Hospital Chief Quality Officer in Lawrence, Massachusetts
The Chief Quality Officer serves as a highly visible, critical member of the senior team and energetic champion and mentor for quality and patient safety throughout the organization, and leads all aspects of strategic and operational planning and performance related to patient advocacy, patient experience, accreditation, regulatory, quality and risk management programs. The Chief Quality Officer ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements at the national, state and local levels, and develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. This position also ensures that hospital departments comply with established policies, procedures, quality assurance and quality control measures and provides oversight and direction for data management functions and processes for required quality reporting and pay for performance measures insuring data is accurate, obtained, submitted to external agencies as required, and internally reported in a timely manner and presented in a format appropriate and actionable for the audience and the improvement project. The Chief Quality Officer directs and supervises personnel, includes hiring, orientation, performance evaluation and management, providing direction, guidance and leadership for effective teamwork and motivation and works closely and collaboratively with medical, nursing and clinical leadership to implement improvement strategies to continually improve quality and patient safety and establishing an annual quality and patient safety plan incorporating target and stretch goals. Promotes and supports culture of safety.
Master's Degree in healthcare, administration or related field required with five to seven years of proven track record of advancing organizational strategy in hospital health care quality, patient safety and/or risk management. Three to five years of supervisory or management experience also required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred, required within one year of hire. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred. Clinical experience also preferred.
