As a driver for Youth On The Move Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our passengers. You are the face of our company, responsible for providing reliable transportation services to children, groups, and individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities. Your professionalism and dedication directly impact our clients? experience and the reputation of our organization. Duties and Responsibilities: ? Safety of Passengers: Ensuring the safety of our passengers is the highest priority of all your duties, guiding every action and decision you make as a driver for Youth On The Move Inc. ? Safe Operation of Vehicles: Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and the public. ? Passenger Assistance: Provide courteous and attentive service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and exiting the vehicle, especially for children and individuals with disabilities. ? Timely Transportation: Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers, adjusting routes as necessary to accommodate traffic or weather conditions. ? Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance: Perform regular inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip, checking for any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Report any issues to the appropriate personnel and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained. ? Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatchers, passengers, and other staff members. Report any delays, incidents, or emergencies promptly. ? Compliance with Policies: Adhere to all company policies, including those related to safety, conduct, and customer service. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. ? Record Keeping: Accurately complete and submit required logs, reports, and paperwork, including trip details, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance records. ? Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally and respectfully. Represent Youth On The Move Inc. positively in all interactions. ? Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns or medical situations, following company protocols and ensuring passenger safety at all times. Requirements: ? Must have a valid driver?s license with a minimum of one year?s driving experience and are able to pass an RMV background check. ? Able to pass criminal offender and sex offender background checks (CORI and SORI). ? Able to pass a drug test (which includes screening for marijuana) and a physical examination. ? Must follow transportation schedules and adjust driving routes to account for weather and traffic conditions. ? Must be physically able to assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles, as necessary, and occasionally lift as much as 50 pounds. ? Must be able to load and secure child seats and wheelchairs in vehicles (training included). ? Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time. ? Must supervise passengers to ensure safe and appropriate behavior. Qualifications: ? Must have effective oral communication skills in English. ? Must be CPR qualified (training included). ? Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with passengers, families, and program personnel. ? Must have effective crisis-management skills. ? Must have a positive attitude and professional demeanor. ? Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
