We Grow Microgreens, LLC Farmworker in Hyde Park, Massachusetts
Date of Need: 2/19/25 to 12/18/25 Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, horticultural oil use, yields, plant growth or costs. Participate in the inspection, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Manually plant, cultivate and harvest fruits (including guavas and berries), herbs, vegetables (including tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, peppers, chard, lettuce, leafy greens, eggplant) microgreens, and edible flowers plants. Label, prune, transplant, pot, fertilize, spray, propagate and harvest leaves of shrubs and trees. Weed raised garden boxes and potted plants manually and by using hoes, trowels, rakes, and hand rakes. Use hand tools including rakes, hand rakes, power tools (such as power drills and circular saws), hammers, screw drivers, shovels, trowels, hoes, pruners, scissors, shears, wheelbarrow and knives. Use agricultural equipment, including leaf blowers, harvesting machine, bale breaker, germination chamber, miniloader, irrigation system, flood benches, greenhouse/high tunnel controls, lawn mower and dehydrator. Maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Inform farm managers of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides, horticultural oil and fertilizers. Operate miniloader and self-propelled machinery to plant, distribute soil, compost, mulch and maintain crops and grounds. Load agricultural products into vehicles. Drive vehicles to market and for deliveries to customers (this is an optional job duty and licenses can be obtained by the worker after arriving for the season). Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Sell agricultural products, plants and flowers to customers at farm stand and markets. Deliver agricultural products, plants and flowers to customers and markets. Regulate greenhouse conditions, and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems. Feel plants\' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease. Provide information and advice to the public regarding the selection, purchase, and care of products. Maintain and repair equipment, including irrigation and climate control systems. Dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, plants, trees, and shrubs. Maintain inventory, informing managers of shortages as required. Dig, rake, and screen soil in raised garden beds in preparation for planting. Fill garden beds with soil and empty soil from garden beds. Dig, rake, turn and screen compost piles using shovels, rakes and screens. Inspect plants to assess quality. Move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrow or miniloader. Tie and bunch flowers, plants, shrubs, branches, vegetables and trees. Pack agricultural products into containers and load them to fill orders or prepare for markets. Wrap tree roots. Haul and spread soil, fertilizer, peat moss, mulch and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrow or cart and shovels. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures using tools mentioned above. Spray and water plants, shrubs, trees and trays of microgreens. Apply General Use Pesticides to plants (including fruits, herbs and vegetables), shrubs, and trees. Add fertilizer to amend soil in garden beds, pots and microgreen trays. All work is performed outdoors in the field, in the greenhouse and in high tunnels. Lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds. Drive farm workers into town for grocery shopping and errands (this is an optional job duty/licenses can be obtained by the worker after arriving or the season).
