Special Education Teachers The Center School The Center School - Holyoke, Massachusetts Springdale Education Center - Holyoke, Massachusetts Job Details Job ID:4213358 Starting Date:Immediately Job Description Center School and Springdale Education Center, Full-Year (12 month) private Special Education day schools located in Chicopee MA and Holyoke MA and part of The Positive Regard Network, serve students from ages 5-22. We are seeking dedicated candidates for Licensed Special Education Teacher openings at all levels - Elementary, Middle School, High School. Our programs provide a unique and rewarding opportunity to serve students with a wide variety of moderate to severe special needs in many different settings. Activities such as swimming, community outings, field trips, life skills & vocational activities are designed to enrich & enhance the student experience. Special Education Teachersserve students by: Providing & instructing age/grade appropriate lesson plans; obtaining and/or developing appropriate curricular materials in all subjects; Completing & maintaining evaluation records; Providing appropriate homework and assigning & correcting student work; Arranging for testing of students as prescribed by IEP & advocating for other testing/service needs; Administering standardized & informal tests appropriate to credentials; Providing input for IEP development & treatment planning; providing rough draft IEP for Team meetings with input from appropriate service providers; Attending IEP, review & emergency meetings; Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in Education or a related field; a Master\'s degree is preferred. Current/Valid Massachusetts DESE Special Education certification is required (Moderate Disabilities PK-8 or 5-12 or Severe Disabilities, All Levels) Prior experience working with students with moderate to severe special needs is strongly preferred. NOTE: All candidates who have been given an offer of employment will be subject to screening through the following agencies: CORI, SORI, DCF, SAFIS (Fingerprinting) Welcome to The Center School, Springdale Education Center Holyoke Center School is a Full-Year private day school serving students ages 5-22 with a variety of special needs., Springdale Education Center (SEC) is an approved private school by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. SEC is an intensive, highly structured, therapeutic year-round day school which provides a range of educational, clinical, psycho-educational, behavioral and outreach services for youth ages 5-22. These students are challenged with serious mental health issues, have engaged in aggressive behaviors and have provided a significant challenge to caregivers. Job Requirements At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
