Description:

Position Purpose Providence Place is seeking a dedicated Director of Food Services to lead our dining services department. Your primary role will be to plan, organize, and direct all operations to ensure a top-notch dining experience for our residents. You will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure the department is clean, safe, and sanitary.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee daily operations of the dining services department.

  • Manage department budget and performance reporting.

  • Calculate food costs and maintain inventory methods.

  • Handle food services contracts and catering.

  • Ensure resident satisfaction with dining experiences.

  • Supervise cooks, sous chefs, and other food prep staff.

  • Design recipes, plan menus, and select plate presentations.

  • Implement hygiene policies and inspect equipment for cleanliness.

  • Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff.

  • Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies.

  • Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints.

  • Monitor and enforce kitchen safety and sanitation standards.

  • Set and monitor performance standards for staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Culinary training from a 2-year or 4-year college preferred.

  • Experience in a commercial kitchen through internship, apprenticeship, or mentorship.

  • Special certifications in the culinary field are a plus.

  • Superior customer service skills and professionalism.

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and productivity.

  • High motivation and energy level.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong personal accountability and independent decision-making abilities.
